Guidelines for Applications

Eligibility

  • grants are made to non-profit, tax-exempt organizations only.
  • must have received a determination letter from the Internal Revenue Service Indicating that it is an organization as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and must provide a copy w/ request.
  • by Charter, the IRS determination letter must be addressed in Texas.

Restrictions

  • Ray C. Fish Foundation does not favor grants to mass appeal solicitations or to other foundations who then make grants to 3rd party organizations.
  • Ray C. Fish Foundation does not make grants to businesses or individuals.
  • Ray C. Fish Foundation does not support capital campaigns.

Grant Administration

  • Ray C. Fish Foundation accepts electronic grant submission ONLY. Please submit your grant application to grants@rcff.org.
  • There are no deadlines for making a request to Ray C. Fish Foundation.
  • An organization may apply only once during any calendar year. If grant request is denied, the applying organization must wait one year, from the date of the denial letter, before submitting a new request. If grant request is approved, the grantee must wait one year, from the date of contribution, before applying again.
  • The Foundation makes every effort to respond as soon as possible to inquiries.

How does the Ray C. Fish Foundation grant giving process work?

  • Step 1: Download the Grant Application
  • Step 2: Fill out application and collect required materials
  • Step 3: Email grant proposal to grants@rcff.org with the Grant
  • Application as the first page and BE SURE TO NUMBER EACH DOCUMENT AND ITS PAGES so that we may keep the proposal in order.
  • Step 4: Trustees review grant application and schedule site visit or request more information, if necessary
  • Step 5: Decision Letters are mailed to Organization.
  • Step 6: Grantees are to email Sarah Young a formal letter of receipt when funds are received.
